Frayed and Faded. Waterlogged and Weathered.

Leave an archery target sit out for a season - well, that’s $80 bucks down the drain. Then one day - I tripped over some treated boards laying in my barn and I had a thought…..what if I cleaned up this junk and made something useful. A little figuring - a little cutting - and some deck screws to hold it all together. I even had an old piece of metal tin laying around. That sounds like it might amount to something. Shelter. For a target.

Out in the world - things are difficult. Frayed relationships. Faded purpose. We are waterlogged with busyness and anxiety. Weathered from the mundane, day to day life.

If that sounds like a summary of your life - you are probably asking and waiting for a solution. I actually came across one yesterday. Check out Psalm 91. It's a lot less work than getting all the tools out. It’s called faith and trust in the Most High God.

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is exciting news. When we trust God - he provides us with shelter, and even more exciting than that - rest. His shadow shields us from the scorching UVs of life. His shadow keeps us dry in life's storms. He gives us rest no matter what season we are living in.

“This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Praise God he is my refuge. My safe place. The Lord of my life.

No matter the hardship in life. No matter the season you are walking through, His Word says that he will be our safe place.

Trust in God - let him be your shelter. And find rest.
